IT System Administrator – 1099 Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, monitor, and manage workloads on AWS and Microsoft Azure, encompassing computing, storage, networking, and identity resources.

• Handle resource provisioning, cost tracking, tagging, and foundational security configurations across both cloud environments.

• Assist in hybrid and cloud-native architectures, resolving connectivity, performance, and availability challenges.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists in optimization and simulation to create, construct, and refine models that provide high-quality, real-world insights.

• Develop and implement innovative heuristics and optimization models to address intricate problems in various sectors, ensuring efficiency and scalability.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in decision science and apply best practices for our clients.

• Convey complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

• Work with cross-functional teams to comprehend business needs and convert them into actionable solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of practical IT system administration experience.

• Proven expertise in administering AWS environments.

• Hands-on cloud administration experience on both AWS and Microsoft Azure platforms.

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, licensing, and identity management.

• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automating administrative tasks.

• Some background in supporting or operating within Department of War (DoW) environments.

• US Citizenship is mandatory.

• Capability to work independently as a 1099 contractor with strong documentation and communication practices.
