This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the administration of Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments, facilitating the complete setup and migration to Microsoft 365.
• Manage a combination of Windows and Mac endpoints utilizing MDM tools for device enrollment, configuration, compliance, and patch management policies.
• Administer SSO, MFA, and directory integrations; maintain the configuration of identity providers and authentication policies.
• Manage and administer security toolsets (DLP, EDR, email security, and SIEM logs) to ensure effective threat detection and enforcement of policies.
• Provide tier 2/3 support for SaaS applications across the firm as needed.
• Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts within endpoint, email, identity, and cloud environments.
• Support compliance activities and internal audits; maintain documentation and evidence for security controls.
• Contribute to incident response efforts: detection, containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
• Assist with vulnerability management, including tracking patch cadence and reporting on endpoint hygiene.
• Identify security coverage gaps or operational process deficiencies and drive remediation efforts.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices pertinent to a remote-first professional services environment.
• Develop dashboards and reports to present security metrics, compliance status, and operational health.
• Manage relationships with key vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Oversee security operations while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and internal policies.
• Strategy and planning: Convert business needs into operational capabilities, including capacity planning, disaster recovery/business continuity design, cloud migration strategy, and lifecycle roadmaps.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT systems administration, security, operations, or a combined role.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing modern, complex IT environments.
• Experience administering enterprise-level collaboration suites (Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace).
• Strong understanding of security fundamentals: identity/access controls, patching, vulnerability management, and secure configuration practices.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and backups: design and testable DR plans, understanding of RTO/RPO, and backup validation.
• Practical knowledge of EDR, email security (including SPF/DKIM/DMARC, anti-phishing), DLP, or SIEM tools in an operational context.
• Hands-on experience with MDM/UEM solutions across Mac and Windows (Jamf, Microsoft Intune, or equivalent); comfortable managing device compliance on a large scale.
• Proven experience administering SSO, MFA, and an identity provider (Okta, Google Identity, Azure AD / Entra ID, or similar).
• Solid understanding of security principles: identity lifecycle management, endpoint hygiene, phishing defense, and zero-trust principles.
• Experience supporting a fully remote or distributed workforce.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• (Preferred) Experience within a law firm, legal technology, or professional services sector.
• (Preferred) Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST CSF, or similar).
• (Preferred) At least 1-3 years of experience in a leadership or management position, overseeing a team of IT professionals.
• (Preferred) Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (such as Nagios, Splunk, ELK stack).
• (Preferred) Experience with scripting or automation (n8n, Python, Bash, Google Apps Script).
