This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Conduct machine translation post-editing (MTPE) or proofreading for IT legal contracts and service agreements.

• Ensure terminology precision, legal consistency, logical coherence, and adherence to Brazilian Portuguese writing standards.

• Adhere to style guides, terminology databases, and project specifications.

• Complete assigned tasks punctually and communicate proactively regarding any uncertainties or delays.

• Achieve productivity targets of 600 words per day for MTPE and 1,200 words per day for proofreading.

• Participate in the mandatory qualification test specific to the project before engaging formally.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in the Simplified Chinese (ZHCN) to Brazilian Portuguese (PTBR) language pair.

• Preference for native-level Brazilian Portuguese speakers; non-native linguists with strong PTBR skills will also be considered.

• A degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Language Studies, or equivalent with substantial translation training; OR a minimum of 2 years of translation experience alongside a college degree; OR at least 5 years of translation experience without a degree; OR a translation certification from a recognized government authority.

• Practical experience in translating or editing legal or IT contract materials is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with CAT tools such as MemoQ, Memsource/Phrase, or Smartcat is preferred.

• Consistent availability and capability to meet daily production targets.

• Willingness to undertake a mandatory unpaid qualification assessment.

• Ability to work during core business hours.

• Required to sign a confidentiality agreement and complete a translation test.
