IT Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provisioning of systems hardware, software, and associated infrastructure

• Installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems

• Support for R&D personnel, processes, technology, and engineering infrastructure

• Engagement in technical research and development to foster ongoing innovation

• Assurance that hardware, operating systems, software systems, and procedures are operational, secure, and well-maintained

• Ability to travel on short notice for network troubleshooting as required

• Management of day-to-day operations of Tanium’s infrastructure

• Involvement in planning both short- and long-term IT objectives and strategies

• Development of tools to automate tasks and integrate central IT services

• Adherence to the change management process

• Documentation of system configuration, installations, and maintenance activities

• Collaboration with DevOps and Engineering teams to address operational challenges and optimize workflows

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience

• Familiarity with Meraki network hardware and web interface

• Direct experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud

• Experience in managing common services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory

• Knowledge of monitoring and analytics tools such as Nagios, Splunk, CheckMK, and/or DataDog

• Basic understanding of common network technologies and protocols

• Problem-solving abilities to analyze complex situations and address technical challenges using commercial or open-source tools

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Preferred: 3-5 years of relevant work experience

• Preferred technologies: Tanium, Ansible, Python, Windows and Linux shell scripting, GitHub Enterprise, Artifactory, Jenkins, Cloudflare

• Experience in writing scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell

• Initiative, motivation, strong oral and written communication skills, teamwork, ethics, integrity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment

• Willingness to travel on short notice as necessary, with expected travel of 5% of the time or less
