This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Lead a global team of fifteen DevOps engineers located across various regions to ensure the success of diverse initiatives.
• Design and execute the DevOps and DevSecOps strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Establish and uphold best practices for infrastructure automation, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), monitoring, and release management.
• Create a Community of Practices (CoP) to promote best practices across various DevOps topics, including deployment methods and branching strategies.
• Drive automation projects to enhance operational tasks such as infrastructure provisioning, release notes, configuration management, and deployment processes.
• Implement and monitor adherence to DevOps metrics.
• Formulate strategies to minimize technical backlog.
• Ensure that DevOps guidelines are regularly updated.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Proactively suggest and implement innovative solutions to enhance software delivery and deployment.
• Engage in the recruitment process for IT support personnel.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, security policies, and SOX-related activities.
• Schedule team members' job responsibilities to provide necessary coverage.
• Clearly articulate verbal and written ideas, employing appropriate business communication styles.
• Provide regular updates to relevant managers.
• Ensure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
• Show a commitment to customer service by anticipating, meeting, and exceeding expectations, effectively resolving problems and prioritizing customer issues.
• Consult with the reporting manager regarding complex or unusual situations.
• Guarantee 100% compliance with all company policies and procedures (e.g., Security, Health, Safety, and Quality).
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality concerning all data and proprietary information, whether internal to PPG or specific to customers.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure, managing changing priorities and deadlines.
• Understand and embrace the strategic direction of the business and IT.
• Comprehend business processes and tools in the current environment.
• Manage projects as required.
• Organize 24/7 support with the team.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of four (4+) years of experience as a Developer and/or DevOps engineer.
• At least two (2+) years of experience leading DevOps teams, including roadmap development, agile processes, performance management, conflict resolution, and career development.
• Strong experience and proficiency with DevOps tools, including containers, scripting, source control, and workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git, and Azure DevOps.
• Proficient in creating, enhancing, and maintaining CI/CD processes and tools within Azure Pipelines.
• Experience in driving cultural change across organizations related to DevOps.
• Strong understanding of monitoring and logging management tools (e.g., App Insights, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Proficient in software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Experience in project management.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with management and technical teams in a self-starter role.
