This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take ownership of and continually enhance the IT FinOps governance framework spanning cloud, IT infrastructure, applications, managed services, and IT operations.
• Ensure comprehensive transparency regarding IT service expenses, including cloud utilization, licensing usage, AI compute/token consumption, provider fees, and operational costs.
• Collaborate closely with the Senior IT Service Manager and the Digital Leadership Team to synchronize service performance (SLA/KPI), consumption metrics, and financial results.
• Monitor, control, and optimize IT expenditures in relation to budgets, forecasts, contracts, and commercial models.
• Identify, prioritize, and implement cost optimization initiatives across IT services, cloud platforms, software licenses, AI utilization, and managed service consumption.
• Establish and sustain cost reporting and dashboards, encompassing run-rate tracking, cost trends, budget variances, and savings realization, with proactive alerts and coordinated management actions for corrective measures.
• Oversee commercial governance tasks, including the review and validation of provider invoices, consumption reports, service credits, and costs associated with changes.
• Challenge external service providers regarding cost drivers, inefficiencies, and any unclear or non-compliant charges.
• Champion cloud cost optimization strategies (e.g., rightsizing, tagging, reserved capacity, lifecycle management, anomaly detection).
• Provide financial insights and cost transparency in service governance forums and performance evaluations.
• Work alongside Enterprise Architecture and Domain Experts to evaluate the financial consequences of architectural and technological decisions.
• Assess and quantify the financial implications of service modifications, projects, and transition activities.
• Monitor and ensure the realization of cost savings and optimization benefits.
• Foster a FinOps culture among IT and business stakeholders, enhancing cost ownership and accountability.
• Promote continuous improvement through automation, tools, and advanced analytics (e.g., dashboards, AI-driven insights).
• Define clear financial ownership for IT services (who is responsible for which costs).
• Set up chargeback or show-back mechanisms for the respective business owners.
• Oversee asset lifecycle management and prepare budgets for necessary replacements.
• Assist the IT Project Manager in budget planning and management.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT financial management, FinOps, IT controlling, or a similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing IT costs within complex environments involving external providers or outsourced services.
• In-depth understanding of IT cost structures, including cloud consumption models, licensing, managed services, and operational expenses.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, coupled with a strong understanding of cloud cost management principles and optimization techniques.
• Solid knowledge of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and financial governance.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting financial and consumption data and converting it into actionable insights.
• Experience working in cross-functional settings with Finance, Procurement, IT Service Management, and Architecture teams.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based environments and an understanding of the financial implications of ITSM processes.
• Proficient in reporting and cost management tools (e.g., Power BI, Azure Cost Management, Copilot Credit Estimator, or similar).
• Experience in international, multi-provider, or outsourced IT settings.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken) at level B2 or equivalent.
