IS Security Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the Ochsner computer network environment to identify potential security threats.

• Collaborate with and gain insights from seasoned security team leaders.

• Employ cutting-edge technologies to detect, analyze, and mitigate intrusions and security incidents.

• Conduct network security monitoring and manage incident response efforts.

• Maintain documentation of security monitoring and incident response activities.

• Monitor and evaluate Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.

• Support the daily operations of the infrastructure while ensuring optimal system and data availability.

• Facilitate the installation and maintenance of the technology infrastructure.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.

• Advanced security certifications such as SANS GIAC / ISC2 CISSIP are preferred.

• 0-2 years of IT experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 2-4 years of IT experience with an Associate’s degree OR relevant experience.

• Preferred 2 years of experience in IS Security/Cybersecurity.

• Basic understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP).

• Relevant knowledge and experience in security operations, security configuration and deployment models, threat detection/response, incident detection/response, investigations, and forensics.

• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systems.

• Experience with regulations and frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, and NIST.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Analytical skills coupled with logical reasoning abilities.
