This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Serve as the chair and a voting member during convened IRB meetings.
• Ensure that the research reviewed meets the criteria set forth by federal regulations.
• Promote initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion within review processes.
• Oversee and approve reviewer assignments for convened IRB meetings.
• Engage in continuous education regarding IRB policies and procedures.
• Independently evaluate human research protocol submissions in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Medical Doctor (MD) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern human subjects research.
• Certification as an IRB Professional (CIP) is preferred.
• Capacity to conduct meetings efficiently and effectively.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills, with the capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective and professional communication and collaboration with researchers and staff.
• Aptitude for problem-solving and successfully negotiating and collaborating with individuals of various skill sets, backgrounds, and levels, both within and outside of the organization.
