IPU Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform prescription data entry with accuracy.

• Develop and sustain precise medication profiles and MARs (Medication Administration Records) for IPU patients.

• Comprehend and implement variations in the IPU model and profiling requirements for hospice partners.

• Independently review and process faxed medication orders, ensuring prompt follow-up when necessary.

• Reach out to hospices to acquire or clarify prescription information and document all interactions.

• Keep accurate and detailed documentation of call logs for all communications.

• Collaborate with local pharmacies on claim adjudication for urgent needs.

• Analyze, convey, and troubleshoot to guarantee patients receive medications without unnecessary delays or confusion.

• Act as a liaison between members, providers, and pharmacists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: Current PA or TN Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license in good standing.

• At least 2 years of experience in pharmacy technician data entry; managed care or PBM experience is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of pharmacy benefit design, formularies, and claim adjudication.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering quality service.

• Capability to balance efficiency, accuracy, and patient satisfaction.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy technician data entry experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in a pharmacy or managed care setting is preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of brand and generic drug names.

• Pharmacy Technician CPhT or EXCPT certification required.
