This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Coding Specialist III is capable of managing up to two simultaneous client assignments that are of a short-term nature.
• Evaluates documentation to accurately code diagnoses and procedures for inpatient hospital claims and data requirements.
• Assesses clinical documentation to code diagnoses, EM levels, and surgical CPT codes.
• Confirms accuracy of MS-DRG and APC calculations.
• Extracts clinical data for reporting and analysis.
• Addresses diagnosis, EM level, surgical CPT, and/or PCS coding-related claims scrubber edits.
• May engage with client personnel and healthcare providers.
• A valid AHIMA (American Health Information Association) credential or a current AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) credential.
• At least one year of relevant and productive coding experience for the specific patient demographic being recruited for, within the last six months.
• Achieves a passing score of 80% on designated pre-employment assessments.
