This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of team outcomes related to the iOS mobile roadmap in collaboration with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager.
• Identify and take personal responsibility for the most complex and impactful engineering initiatives that span multiple teams.
• Develop and maintain a one-to-two-year technical vision for the mobile platform, which includes architecture, technical foundations, and an investment roadmap.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager to establish product strategy based on user needs, goals, and performance metrics.
• Ensure effective execution of the product strategy.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to senior engineers in areas such as execution, judgment, and influence.
• Foster cross-functional alignment amidst ambiguity and organizational complexity.
• Contribute to shaping product direction and engineering practices.
• Guide the team towards adopting AI-native approaches, encompassing technical foundations, tools, and accelerated high-quality delivery.
• Over 8 years of experience in iOS development or similar roles.
• Proficient in Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and other iOS frameworks.
• Proven history of delivering high-quality, engaging mobile experiences.
• Capable of working independently and leading technical direction with minimal guidance.
• Skilled in managing priorities across various projects.
• Effective collaborator with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in 0-to-1 environments, including roles in early-stage or new product development.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and supporting fellow engineers.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.
• Insights on how AI coding tools are transforming software development.
• Strong product instincts with an ability to balance speed and reliability.
• Additional full-stack development experience across client and backend systems is advantageous.
