• Comprehends customer requirements and delivers wealth and investment-related sales and services to BMO clients or prospects.
• Provides guidance to customers on wealth and investment strategies and products that align with their goals.
• Executes sales and service tasks for customers in accordance with established procedures.
• Recognizes and refers customers to other business units as necessary.
• May initiate outbound calls to customers and proactively seek opportunities to enhance the customer experience by offering products that satisfy investment needs.
• Remains informed about consumer demands, industry trends, best practices, and the regulatory landscape concerning the products and services offered.
• Delivers high-quality professional sales and service for inquiries, issues, and requests from customers and prospects.
• Engages in discussions to understand customer needs and provides tailored advice based on their unique investment requirements.
• Meets sales goals focused on relevant investment products.
• Manages all transactional outcomes from customer interactions or refers to the appropriate internal business units.
• Escalates complex or unresolved customer situations to senior management as needed.
• Completes necessary documentation following customer interactions to ensure accurate processing of requests.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of investment markets, practices, and trends and incorporates this information into customer discussions professionally.
• Integrates marketing promotions and programs into customer interactions when appropriate.
• Ensures the confidentiality of customer and Bank information is upheld.
• Identifies and reports any suspicious activity patterns that may be linked to money laundering.
• Complies with regulatory and compliance requirements, including Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing reporting obligations, Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) consumer provision requirements, and Privacy Act regulations.
• Carries out complex and varied tasks within established rules and limits, which may involve handling escalations from other employees.
• Evaluates issues and determines subsequent steps.
• Generally 2 - 3 years of relevant experience.
• A post-secondary degree in a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A high school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• Familiarity with BMO Investment / BMO InvestorLine products and services.
• Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) / CIRO licensing as an Investment Representative is preferred.
• The Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) and the Derivatives Exam must be completed within a specified timeframe to fully function in the role.
• Some knowledge of Risk Management & Compliance.
• Specialized knowledge is beneficial.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is preferred.
