Intervention Specialist, Grades 9-12

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum to ensure alignment with state content standards while addressing the unique needs of each student.

• Write and maintain compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

• Collaborate with general education teachers to achieve student goals.

• Educate parents on effective instructional strategies.

• Prepare necessary documentation.

• Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings.

• Proctor achievement and required assessments, including alternative assessments when necessary.

• Work with related services teams to develop and monitor IEP goals.

• Teach students skills in independent living, literacy, communication, and mathematics.

• Travel as required, up to 20% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.

• Web proficiency.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent presentation abilities.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

• Flexible scheduling.

• Willingness to travel as needed, up to 20% of the time.

• Capable of passing a required background check.

• At least 1 year of classroom experience preferred.

• Master’s degree with a focus in Special Education preferred.

• 3 or more years of classroom experience in Special Education preferred.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during regular school hours.
