Interpreter, VRI/OPI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary related to the industry in which you will interpret (specifically in healthcare and medical sectors) - training will be provided.

• Accurately convey all messages without additions, omissions, or substitutions.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm in obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language 'Fuzhou'.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-phone interpretation with a reputed interpretation company is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Understanding of legal terminology is a plus.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare field is an asset (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
