Interpreter – Mandarin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Facilitate language interpretation between individuals facing language barriers to ensure effective communication.

• Manage telephone or video calls as needed, providing consecutive interpretation of conversations between English speakers.

• Process information swiftly and accurately, acknowledging cultural sensitivities while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.

• Employ relevant industry terminology and possess an understanding of common procedures and practices within the industry.

• Interpret discussions pertaining to Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.

• Outstanding listening, retention, and note-taking abilities to ensure a high degree of accuracy.

• Capacity to focus, remain detached from the dialogue, and consistently uphold neutrality and objectivity.

• Skill in quickly establishing personal credibility with clients.

• Ability to adhere closely to the client's instructions.

• Competence in explaining certain cultural concepts to prevent miscommunication, with the client's permission or upon request.

• Proficiency in reading and writing Chinese characters is essential.

• Bilingual with a B2 CEFR English level and other required languages.

• Capable of working from home on a permanent basis.
