International Head of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Russia.

📋 Description

• Supervise accounting functions across all our global entities, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and promptness of financial records.

• Manage and orchestrate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures across all jurisdictions.

• Ensure that accounting policies are in line with IFRS and local GAAP standards.

• Conduct accounting reconciliations by company and monthly invoice reconciliations for the Group (matching invoices with bank statements).

• Collaborate with outsourced local accounting teams on closing tasks and tax computations.

• Confirm the accuracy of data in quarterly and annual financial statements across all Group entities.

• Ensure full compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction.

• Coordinate external audits, tax submissions, and regulatory reporting, working closely with local advisors.

• Establish and uphold strong internal controls to protect assets and reduce financial risk.

• Harmonize accounting practices and reporting standards across various legal entities.

• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and transfer pricing coordination.

• Act as the central point of coordination between finance teams in different countries.

• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

• Offer insights into profitability, cash flow, and cost structures throughout international operations.

• Identify financial risks and propose data-driven actions to aid business decisions.

• Promote standardization and automation of accounting processes across entities.

• Enhance reporting efficiency and data quality through system improvements.

• Ensure uniformity in chart of accounts, reporting templates, and financial controls.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team across multiple locations.

• Maintain consistent performance standards, training, and knowledge sharing.

• Build a scalable finance function capable of supporting international growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting (or an equivalent professional accounting qualification).

• Professional certification: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent — required.

• At least 5–7 years of experience in a Chief Accountant or Head of Accounting position.

• Proven experience overseeing accounting across multiple international jurisdictions (EU and US preferred).

• Comprehensive, hands-on accounting experience: bank reconciliations, bookkeeping, closing, financial statements.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and leading an accounting team.

• Direct participation in audit processes.

• Proficiency in English (C1 or higher) **required**; fluency in Russian (B2 or higher) is a significant advantage.

• Nice to Have

• Familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP, including their reconciliation.

• Knowledge of QuickBooks (strong advantage), Holded, or Xero.

• Advanced skills in Excel and Google Sheets.

• Experience with payment platforms such as AMEX, VivaWallet, or Checkout.
