This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The International Admissions Manager – East Africa is responsible for leading ALU's strategy for recruiting fee-paying students throughout the East African region, focusing on international schools and private school networks in key markets such as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and neighboring countries.
• This mid-to-senior level position reports to the Admissions Director and is dedicated to fostering relationships within international and private school communities, including students, parents, and school counselors, to cultivate a robust pipeline of tuition-paying students.
• Create and implement a focused annual recruitment strategy for East Africa aimed at fee-paying students, with special attention to international schools, private schools, and elite school networks across the region.
• Oversee and manage the complete admissions pipeline for fee-paying applicants from East Africa, starting from initial outreach and lead generation through to application, interviews, offers, and enrollment confirmations.
• Establish and nurture strong connections with international school counselors, heads of sixth form, private school administrators, and parent communities throughout East Africa.
• Organize, coordinate, and participate in targeted recruitment events, which include international school fairs, visits to private schools, parent information evenings, and virtual engagement sessions.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the international school landscape in East Africa, incorporating IB, A-Level, AP, and IGCSE school networks, to position ALU as an attractive destination for graduating students.
• Utilize CRM systems to manage applicant records, monitor pipeline health, track conversion rates, and generate regular reports for the Admissions Director.
• Assist in the creation of regionally customized recruitment materials, digital content, and outreach messaging aimed at international school students and their families.
• Collaborate with the Enrollment Manager to ensure seamless transitions from offer acceptance to confirmed enrollment, including providing immigration and travel support for incoming students.
• Offer regional market intelligence and trend analysis, including insights on international school enrollment trends, competitor university positioning, and family decision-making dynamics to guide strategic planning.
• Mentor and assist junior team members and associates by sharing best practices and contributing to the development of team capabilities.
• Represent ALU at international school fairs, university counselor conferences, and events in the regional education sector.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in student recruitment, university admissions, or business development in the education sector, particularly focusing on international or private school markets in East Africa.
• Proven success in recruiting fee-paying students and achieving enrollment objectives.
• Established networks with international school counselors, private school administrators, or parent communities across East Africa.
• Knowledge of international curricula (IB, A-Level, IGCSE, AP) and insight into how students from these systems approach university selection.
• Proficient in using CRM systems for managing pipelines and generating recruitment reports.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout East Africa and occasionally beyond the region.
