International Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the collection and organization of invoices along with supporting documentation necessary for VAT reporting across Cyprus entities.

• Utilize AI tools to process financial documents, extracting and structuring financial data effectively.

• Prepare and review VAT reports, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial information.

• Liaise and collaborate with external tax consultants in Cyprus, providing them with reporting packages and relevant documentation.

• Review and authorize VAT returns produced by external advisors, ensuring compliance and precision before submission.

• Oversee the VAT refund process in Cyprus, coordinating the necessary documentation and managing communication with advisors and stakeholders.

• Generate VAT-related analytics and insights to aid internal decision-making and financial planning.

• Contribute to the establishment and growth of the international accounting function within SKELAR.

• Identify and implement opportunities to automate and enhance VAT reporting processes, increasing efficiency and data quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in accounting, finance, or tax (experience within Big 4, consulting firms, or international businesses is a plus).

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and document workflows.

• Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to maintain high levels of data accuracy.

• Well-organized with structured thinking capabilities.

• Analytical mindset with the ability to work with financial data effectively.

• Enthusiasm for process optimization and automation.

• Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets.

• Upper-intermediate proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of processes.
