
Internal Medicine Physician – Weight Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Join the Virtual Weight Management team at Aurora Health Care as a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician.
• Conduct thorough medical histories, virtual assessments, and clinical evaluations focused on obesity and metabolic conditions.
• Create personalized weight-management treatment plans utilizing evidence-based approaches.
• Offer ongoing virtual longitudinal care, routine follow-ups, and manage chronic diseases related to obesity and metabolic health.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests essential for obesity treatment and metabolic monitoring.
• Ensure all documentation is completed timely, accurately, and in accordance with Aurora Health Care policies.
• Maintain compliance with Aurora Health Care's virtual care guidelines, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Act as an advocate and educator for patients, providing supportive counseling and motivation.
• Deliver empathetic, culturally sensitive care to a diverse adult population.
• Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives, service excellence efforts, and outcomes-driven program development.
• Adhere to access and productivity standards to guarantee timely and convenient virtual care availability.
• Employ standardized evidence-based protocols for obesity care.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary care team, including dietitians, behavioral health professionals, pharmacists, and care coordinators.
• Participate in program meetings, case discussions, and ongoing clinical improvement efforts.

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered obesity care designed for adult patients in a virtual setting.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of obesity as a chronic disease, encompassing pharmacotherapy, nutritional science, behavioral medicine, and pertinent clinical guidelines.
• Assess patient outcomes and incorporate current scientific evidence to enhance practice continuously.
• Communicate effectively through virtual platforms with patients, families, and care team members.
• Exhibit integrity, responsibility, and ethical practice consistently.
• Recognize and utilize health system resources to facilitate high-value, coordinated virtual obesity care.
• A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience.
• Board certification in family medicine or internal medicine.
• Board Certification or Board Eligible status in Obesity/Weight Management is required.
• Maintenance of Certification is necessary according to applicable board standards.
• Experience in virtual care is preferred, with a strong preference for experience in obesity pharmacotherapy.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills required to provide age-appropriate care for adults aged 18 years and older.
