This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kazakhstan.
• Collect and document requirements from internal stakeholders.
• Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Convert business inquiries into data models, queries, and dashboards.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of ELT pipelines from Segment to Snowflake.
• Oversee and verify the event data flowing through Segment, ensuring completeness, consistency, and accurate destination mapping.
• Support data quality audits across the Segment → Snowflake → Looker ecosystem.
• Investigate and document data discrepancies and pipeline failures.
• Aid in the development and upkeep of data models in Snowflake.
• Create dashboards and reports within Looker.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for Snowflake.
• Assist with fundamental LookML development, including views, explores, and measures.
• Implement data visualization best practices for clarity and audience suitability.
• Utilize AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance SQL writing, documentation, and analysis.
• Employ text-to-SQL and LLM-based tools for expedited data exploration.
• Prototype basic AI functionalities, such as anomaly detection and automated report summarization.
• Contribute suggestions for AI and automation integration within the team.
• Track tasks and engage in Agile sprints using Jira.
• Utilize Git/GitHub for version control of SQL, LookML, and Python scripts.
• Participate in code and dashboard evaluations.
• Document data models, event schemas, metric definitions, and pipeline logic.
• Fundamental knowledge of SQL; experience with Snowflake is preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy).
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of ELT/ETL processes.
• Practical experience with Looker or a similar business intelligence tool.
• Capability to create clear, audience-appropriate dashboards.
• Basic knowledge of LookML or a strong willingness to learn.
• Solid understanding of data visualization best practices.
• Basic comprehension of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and event tracking.
• Familiarity with Segment, including sources, destinations, and event schemas.
• Awareness of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) handling and basic data governance.
• Ability to gather, structure, and document requirements effectively.
• Comfortable facilitating discussions with non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written communication skills, capable of transforming findings into clear narratives.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to ask pertinent questions and challenge assumptions.
• Comfortable utilizing AI tools for coding, analysis, and documentation.
• Basic understanding of LLMs: prompts, context, and limitations.
• Awareness of responsible AI practices, including privacy, output validation, and hallucination risks.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.
• Detail-oriented, collaborative, curious, and self-motivated.
