This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Assist with compliance obligations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for all client categories.
• Prepare Activity Statements, annual STP reconciliations and reports, TPAR reports, FBT returns, income tax returns, and financial statements.
• Review Div 7A loans, draft loan documentation, calculate minimum repayments and interest, and finalize dividend statements.
• Review trust distribution minutes to aid in finalization.
• Complete compliance tasks for SMSFs, including transfer balance reporting, financial statements, income tax returns, Activity Statements, and annual pension reviews.
• Examine fund documents and highlight necessary updates to permanent items like Binding Death Benefit nominations and Fund Investment Strategies.
• Code and manage client transactions using cloud-based accounting software like Xero and MYOB.
• Conduct reconciliations for bank, credit card, loan, and GST.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, PAYG withholding, and superannuation compliance.
• Support senior team members with year-end workpapers and review checklists.
• Keep accurate client records and file pertinent documentation.
• Aid with ATO lodgments and correspondence.
• Stay updated with tax and accounting standards.
• Assist in tracking workflow and time entry to achieve billing and productivity goals.
• Collaborate with team members to uphold professional standards.
• Assist bookkeeping staff with data entry, reconciliations, and preparation of Activity Statements.
• Contribute to social media content, the company Accounting Blog, and process enhancements.
• Take initiative for personal learning and development through feedback and mentoring.
• Monitor client workflows, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines effectively.
• Undertake ad hoc tasks as required by partners or clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, or a related field.
• CPA/CA/IPA qualification (not mandatory).
• Prior experience in accounting with a focus on Australian taxation.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven high level of attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information professionally.
• Problem-solving attitude with the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Advanced knowledge of Australian accounting processes, systems, and workflows.
• Previous experience with accounting practice management software.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and small business accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks.
• Willingness to adapt to modern technologies as upgrades are introduced.
• Basic understanding of ATO and ASIC reporting software and requirements.
• Team-oriented with a proactive and collaborative demeanor.
• Work From Home in the Philippines, specifically in Ortigas, Alabang, Pampanga, or Cebu.
• Availability to work from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM AEST / 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Philippine Time.
