Intermediate Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable and future-oriented software solutions to meet complex business and product requirements.

• Assess trade-offs and choose technologies that facilitate long-term growth.

• Utilize prototypes and proof-of-concepts to confirm intricate designs prior to initiating significant development efforts.

• Analyze emerging technologies and integrate them when they enhance scalability, maintainability, or development efficiency.

• Contribute prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production code when additional engineering resources are required.

• Collaborate with AppDev, QE, Product Development, and IOPS to clarify technical direction, uncover dependencies, resolve trade-offs, and ensure progress on cross-team initiatives.

• Engage in refinement and technical discussions, aiding teams in understanding acceptance criteria, technical scope, edge cases, and implementation considerations.

• Offer technical expertise during high-priority incidents, assisting in triage and root-cause analysis.

• Create and maintain high-level architecture and technical documentation using Confluence and Miro.

• Review pull requests to identify correctness and design issues.

• Mentor developers through insightful inquiries, enhancing engineering practices.

• Uphold and advance engineering standards and the code style guide.

• Help define the technical direction of CareerSafe's software offerings while staying connected to implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hands-on software development experience, demonstrating the ability to write and contribute to production-quality code.

• Strong backend development experience.

• Thorough understanding of three-tier architecture and scalable system design.

• Professional experience with Python.

• Experience in designing and working with relational database schemas.

• Experience in designing or integrating APIs and comprehending how application components interact within a larger system.

• Ability to translate business and product requirements into technical designs, prototypes, or proof-of-concepts.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration across developers, designers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.

• Experience in creating both high-level architectural documentation and detailed technical documentation.

• Familiarity with cloud architecture and cloud-based application design.

• Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

• Willingness to work a 9/80 schedule.

• Candidates must be prepared to undergo a drug test.

• Django experience is advantageous.

• AWS experience is preferred.

• Terraform experience is preferred.

• Familiarity with Vue or modern front-end development concepts is a plus.

• Experience with federal compliance considerations, including FedRAMP, is a plus.
