This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate to assess a client's training requirements: Identify the characteristics of learners, the responsibilities associated with a position, and the benchmarks for successful task performance.
• Partner with the client and subject matter experts to pinpoint resources for the development of educational materials.
• Assist clients in recognizing the most suitable media and technologies to fulfill their training needs.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify shortcomings in job performance and existing training programs.
• Define learning objectives and recommend training solutions to enable learners to reach peak performance in their roles.
• Support the formulation of program strategies and guidelines within planning and design documentation.
• Leverage your expertise in Learning Design to create deliverables based on the project's scope and timeline: Simplify complex information into engaging and easily digestible formats.
• Develop lesson plans or storyboards for media-rich eLearning courses, scenario-based learning, and various assessments in accordance with instructional design principles, collaborating with SMEs and Artists.
• Create and publish content utilizing eLearning software.
• Review, revise, and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of content for the learner experience.
• Test eLearning packages within Learning Management Systems (LMS) and evaluate their effectiveness, including SCORM/xAPI reporting.
• Collaborate closely with a Project Manager to inform process and requirement documentation while continuously prioritizing, mitigating risks, and adjusting expectations to maintain a unified project vision.
• Work with fellow Learning Designers to enhance and develop your discipline expertise and best practices.
• At least 3 years of experience in instructional design, including:
• Proven experience in creating effective online, blended, and/or distance learning experiences (familiarity with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Learning Management Systems, SCORM, and/or xAPI is advantageous).
• Experience in designing a diverse range of instructional materials.
• Experience conducting Training Needs/Gap Analysis.
• Experience in integrating generative AI into the learning design workflow to enhance efficiency while ensuring accuracy and relevance to educational objectives.
• Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (experience with multimedia and graphics software is a plus).
• Strong grasp of adult learning theories and design methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently, clearly, transparently, and passionately with colleagues and clients.
• Capacity to work independently without supervision on long-term projects and collaboratively in small, cross-functional teams for short-term objectives.
