This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Report to the Service Lead and assist in conducting air quality evaluations for projects within our Air Permitting and Compliance (Air P&C) Service Line.
• Take on a crucial technical role across a variety of projects nationwide in Canada.
• Actively engage in and foster a robust safety culture at Onterris.
• Contribute to air permitting and compliance initiatives for a diverse range of clients, including those in oil and gas, midstream, mining, power generation and transmission, petrochemicals, and infrastructure.
• Support projects aimed at tackling various environmental air compliance challenges, from straightforward to complex scenarios.
• Carry out annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculations, reviews, and verification assistance.
• Conduct dispersion modeling assessments of differing complexities for permitting and incident evaluation scenarios.
• Prepare technical documentation, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Effectively manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
• Ensure efficient internal communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality results tailored to our clients' specific project requirements.
• Oversee client communications and expectations.
• Actively pursue development opportunities to facilitate your career advancement.
• More than 8 years of experience in regulatory compliance and permitting within Canada.
• A degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• Professional registration in good standing with a Canadian engineering licensing body, or the potential to attain such designation is advantageous.
• Experience in quantifying air emissions, including GHG annual reporting and Emissions Performance Standards (EPS).
• Proficiency with AERMOD modeling software is mandatory.
• Familiarity with modeling assessments necessary to support Environmental Impact Assessments (such as acid deposition modeling, visibility modeling, etc.) is a plus.
• Comprehensive understanding of current regulations, permitting, and legislation in federal and provincial jurisdictions.
• Strong capability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to travel with a valid and clean Canadian driver's license that has no restrictions.
