Interconnection Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned projects throughout the interconnection study process by recognizing milestone requirements, monitoring deadlines, coordinating input from stakeholders, and ensuring that necessary deliverables are completed, reviewed, and submitted punctually to facilitate project advancement.

• Assist in the negotiation and execution of the LGIA.

• Cultivate and maintain a comprehensive understanding of generation interconnection business practices, tariff language, and frameworks related to the interconnection process.

• Evaluate, summarize, and communicate the results of project interconnection studies.

• Act as the main point of contact and foster robust working relationships with external interconnection stakeholders, including utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and transmission providers.

• Create, maintain, and consistently update project interconnection records within company systems.

• Lead cross-departmental coordination for the submission of materials necessary for project interconnection activities, from the interconnection application to the interconnection agreement.

• Aid in coordinating payment requests and issuing financial security needed to support interconnection activities.

• Function as the subject matter expert on interconnection to assist with RFP responses, offtake discussions, financing diligence, and more.

• Uphold strong organization and accountability across project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, or a related discipline.

• Experience: At least 5 years in the power generation sector, with a minimum of 3 years of experience supporting transmission-level interconnections for utility-scale projects.

• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to learn specific company software programs, tools, and processes.

• Skills/Attributes:

• In-depth knowledge of generator interconnection processes within U.S. energy markets, with hands-on experience in one or more ISO/RTO or vertically integrated utility regions, including but not limited to WECC, CAISO, SPP, MISO, PJM, SERC, or ERCOT.

• Capability to manage milestones, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify risks, assess alternatives, and propose practical next steps.

• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate project records, milestone tracking, and documentation.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
