Integration Engineer Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the analysis, design, development, deployment, and support of healthcare data integrations with EMRs and third-party systems.

• Act as the technical lead and primary point of escalation for interface architecture, production challenges, and integration strategy.

• Create, develop, and sustain integration workflows utilizing healthcare interoperability standards and integration platforms.

• Design and implement data exchange solutions leveraging HL7, FHIR, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and associated technologies.

• Convert business and clinical requirements into scalable and dependable integration solutions.

• Conduct ETL processes, data transformations, and intricate healthcare data mappings.

• Diagnose and resolve interface issues to ensure system performance, stability, and data integrity.

• Observe integration environments and proactively seek opportunities for optimization and enhancement.

• Guarantee compliance with healthcare security, privacy, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with Product, Development, QA, DevOps, Support, and external partners to execute integration projects.

• Offer technical mentorship, conduct code reviews, and provide guidance to integration engineering team members.

• Support Agile development methodologies, project planning, and prioritization efforts.

• Engage in implementation, testing, validation, deployment, and post-production support activities.

• Maintain thorough technical documentation for integrations, workflows, troubleshooting, and operational processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in developing and supporting healthcare data integrations or interface solutions.

• Prior experience in leading, mentoring, or providing technical support to engineering teams.

• In-depth knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging standards, including ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU message types.

• Familiarity with FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability frameworks.

• Practical experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Iguana, or comparable platforms.

• Strong expertise in RESTful APIs and healthcare data exchange methodologies.

• Experience creating scripts and integrations using JavaScript or similar scripting languages.

• Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows environments.

• Acquainted with EMR systems, healthcare data structures, and clinical workflows.

• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and best practices for healthcare data security.

• Awareness of cloud-based integration concepts and modern interoperability architectures.

• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
