Integration Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain integrations with external platforms (PSAs, RMMs, identity providers) using REST APIs.

• Implement and troubleshoot OAuth and other authentication flows across various integration partners.

• Design and debug background job processing (Sidekiq) for synchronization tasks on a large scale, including diagnosing intermittent or slow jobs under actual production load.

• Write and test code for backend operations, monitor architectural performance, and troubleshoot and resolve issues.

• Develop new features and integrations while contributing to the enhancement of existing ones.

• Conduct systems analysis to manage and control the utilization of computer systems software as a systems programmer.

• Revise, repair, or expand current programs to improve operational efficiency or adapt to new requirements from integration partners.

• Collaborate with managerial, engineering, and technical staff to clarify program objectives, identify issues, and propose changes.

• Compile and document program development and revisions, including code annotations for better understanding by others.

• Work with and support computer operators or system analysts to define and resolve issues in running computer programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred, or equivalent education/experience.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as an Integration Engineer, Backend Engineer, or in a comparable software engineering position.

• Strong foundational knowledge in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

• Extensive experience with REST APIs — including consuming, integrating, and troubleshooting third-party APIs, not limited to just creating them.

• Proficiency in OAuth and other authentication/authorization flows.

• Experience in designing and maintaining background job systems (such as Sidekiq), including diagnosing performance issues on a large scale.

• Advanced skills in PostgreSQL (or similar), Vue/React, JavaScript, and Dockerized environments.

• Significant experience with Local and Wide Area Networks.

• Proficient in Git for version control purposes.

• A performance-at-scale mindset — comfortable assessing throughput, latency, and failure modes as integration volume increases.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written, with exceptional collaboration and time-management abilities — capable of giving and receiving feedback, multitasking, and meeting deadlines in a team environment.
