This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Deliver services and support as an Integrated Independent Evaluation (IIE) Specialist (EX100) at the Defense Waste Processing Facility (DWPF) located at Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina.
• Offer a range of subject matter expertise within a designated functional area.
• Assist with internal and external assessments, evaluations, audits, or surveillances as part of the Self-Assessment Program.
• Provide independent assessment services utilizing Liquid Waste processes and procedures specific to Savannah River Site (SRS).
• Develop, document, and communicate the planning of all Quality Assurance (QA) support functions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Address facility/project requirements in the assigned area by conducting reviews and approvals of various documents, including procedures, procurement documents, and design output documents.
• Coordinate responses to corrective actions following external assessments, audits, or surveillances.
• Review selected engineering deliverables that are classified as Safety Class and Safety Significant.
• U.S. Citizenship Required - Must be a United States Citizen.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills (This employer participates in the e-Verify program).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe).
• Candidates should possess specialized knowledge that varies depending on the specific independent assessment technical assignment.
• Familiarity with activities such as analytical chemistry, radiochemistry, conduct of operations, nuclear facility operations (HVAC and analytical process), environmental regulatory compliance, radioactive containment, fire protection, waste characterization, project management, quality assurance, and industrial safety and hygiene is essential.
• Significant management experience in related fields is preferred.
• Occasional travel may be necessary to participate in meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.
• Flexible working hours: SRS offers various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/day for five days a week), 4/10s (10 hours/day for four days a week), and 9/80s (9 hours/day for five days on week A and four days on week B).
