This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for referred parents and caregivers.
• Evaluate program eligibility through a tailored screening tool and culturally sensitive phone interviews.
• Assist parents and caregivers in locating additional support and resources.
• Conduct biweekly updates for intake and case formulations.
• Allocate and schedule eligible families with Parent/Caregiver Support Coaches.
• Enroll families in the program’s activity and video portal.
• Contribute to the monitoring, support, and development of the program.
• Gather and input referral data as well as feedback from family surveys.
• Engage in collaborative discussions to adapt the program to better meet families’ needs.
• Coordinate with referral agents, including counselors, school counselors, Elders, family physicians, nurse practitioners, Indigenous child and youth mental health clinicians, early childhood educators, and family/youth support workers.
• Determine referral eligibility in collaboration with the staff Registered Clinician.
• Provide timely service to parents, caregivers, and referral agents in accordance with program protocols and policies.
• Connect families with culturally appropriate and safe resources as well as service providers.
• Consult with program supervisors when case-related concerns arise.
• Generate regular reports and assist in monitoring intake processes.
• Share intake updates and coach assignments during team clinical support meetings.
• Maintain precise, professional, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and respectful documentation.
• Engage in periodic outreach initiatives for the program.
• Take part in team training opportunities.
• Implement the Agency’s Diversity Lens and Framework for Support.
• Adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in child and youth care or a related field that focuses on working with families and children, with a preference for specialized programs aimed at Indigenous families and communities.
• Training in administering mental health-related screening and conducting interviews.
• Training in professional and human-centered case documentation.
• Approximately 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• A combination of training, education, and experience will be considered equivalent.
• Familiarity and experience with BC First Nations, Métis, and Inuit perspectives, cultures, histories, and knowledge systems.
• Understanding of Indigenous wellness and healing practices.
• Knowledge of child development, including insights from Indigenous worldviews.
• Experience working with adult learners from an Indigenous context.
• Ability to engage inclusively and respectfully with diverse populations, including mixed families and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals.
• Awareness of the intergenerational and ongoing effects of colonial policies and practices on Indigenous peoples in Canada.
• Understanding of governmental institutions and agencies affecting Indigenous families and children.
• Proven oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to receive, integrate, and provide constructive feedback.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, multimedia, and digital applications.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience in a supportive role with Indigenous parents, caregivers, families, and children.
• Understanding of Indigenous peoples' lived experiences related to wellness, well-being, and mental health issues.
• Familiarity with MS Outlook, Teams, and Word.
• Experience in mental health screening and interviewing is an advantage.
• Experience with telephone and virtual service delivery is a plus.

• Full-time work week of 37.5 hours.
• Standard business hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
