Insurance Verification Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Confirm patient insurance benefits and eligibility.

• Request and obtain pre-certification approvals for consultations and follow-up appointments.

• Document and categorize benefit and certification details into the EMR system.

• Collaborate with other departments to manage coverage restrictions and mitigate payment issues.

• Review schedules to verify that all patients are confirmed and active.

• Record and address coverage limitations to prevent payment complications.

• Manage workload efficiently to adhere to deadlines.

• Secure referrals or authorizations from primary care providers or insurance entities.

• Serve as a resource for team members and collaborate with internal teams to resolve insurance-related concerns.

• Index incoming records and referrals accurately.

• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

• Ensure that every customer experiences a high standard of service.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience is mandatory.

• Certificate from a College or Technical School is preferred.

• 2 to 3 years of experience in the medical or a related field is required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is essential.

• Understanding of health insurance industry practices and/or medical billing procedures is necessary.

• Computer literacy is required.

• Experience with medical scheduling and billing systems is preferred.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening is required as a condition of employment.
