This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
• Validate insurance eligibility and benefits for all new Boulder Care commercial enrollments.
• Communicate policy benefit and eligibility details to patients in a thorough and professional manner.
• Address incoming inquiries from Boulder patients regarding outstanding balances, non-covered charges, etc.
• Support our Enrollment Specialist and Care Navigator teams with complex insurance verification issues for newly enrolled and existing patients.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for incoming patient messages and internal support requests.
• Conduct ongoing eligibility checks to ensure accurate billing and clean claims.
• Collaborate with other teams to assist patients with lapsed coverage who require temporary financial assistance.
• Act as a subject matter expert for internal insurance training sessions.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standardized processes to ensure insurance data is accurate and current in our EHR.
• Identify and rectify billing discrepancies and resubmit claims to insurance companies.
• Investigate and resolve third-party denials, edits, information requests, and other related correspondence.
• Play a vital role in the Revenue Cycle by pinpointing and reporting inefficiencies and opportunities that can improve revenue flow, reduce denials, and lower write-offs.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare environment focusing on billing, insurance verification, and accounts receivable, with a strong emphasis on aiding patients in understanding their coverage and financial obligations.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding.
• Ability to communicate with patients in a clear and compassionate manner to ensure a positive care experience.
• Team-oriented; consistently serves both the team and the patient at a high level.
• Exhibits problem-solving and analytical skills suitable for the role.
