
Insurance Technical Accounting Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a subject matter expert on insurance SAP, encompassing interpretations and application of NAIC guidance.
• Track and evaluate emerging regulatory changes from the NAIC and other regulatory bodies; assess implications and facilitate the implementation of new directives.
• Engage in and represent ERAC at various NAIC meetings and industry forums.
• Simplify and clearly communicate complex technical accounting matters to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements, including annual and quarterly filings (Blue Books), as well as risk-based capital calculations.
• Aid in ensuring ongoing compliance with the NAIC’s Principles-Based Bond Definition framework.
• Support financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Enhance and uphold internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX and Model Audit Rule compliance.
• Collaborate with both internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and regulatory examinations.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• At least 8 years of direct experience with insurance SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
