This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.
• The Compliance Manager is essential in ensuring the organization’s compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards by supervising regulatory monitoring, managing rate and form submissions, preparing for audits, and ensuring compliance readiness.
• This position entails actively identifying compliance requirements, coordinating and delivering essential training, and making certain that all employees are familiar with pertinent regulations.
• Within the framework of Risk Management and Corporate Governance, the Compliance Manager evaluates and mitigates potential risks, ensuring consistency with internal policies and legal standards.
• A proactive and detail-oriented approach is required to continuously enhance compliance processes, minimize risk, and uphold the organization’s dedication to ethical and compliant operations.
• Oversee the submission of all state regulatory filings by coordinating and filing annual rate, rule and form submissions, business entity filings with the Secretary of State, NAIC license/expansion filings, biographical affidavits for directors and officers, and corporate governance annual disclosures.
• Prepare or facilitate responses to inquiries from regulators and objections regarding filings.
• Draft and revise policy forms, endorsements, notices, and related correspondence for regulatory submission and approval.
• Monitor and communicate the status of filings to internal business partners.
• Ensure that legal and regulatory changes are tracked and that any business impacts are recognized so that system and operational adjustments can be made to maintain compliance.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.
• An Institutes or AICP designation is preferred (ARM, ARC, ACP, CCP).
• Over 7 years of professional experience in insurance operations and compliance/risk management.
• More than 5 years of experience researching state insurance laws, regulations, and state license requirements, as well as facilitating state insurance department filings.
