Insurance Counselor I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Educate and guide DaVita patients on health insurance and the impact of various insurance options.

• Help reduce the stress that dialysis patients often face when navigating complex insurance choices and employment decisions.

• Travel to DaVita clinics located in central Orlando and nearby areas.

• Conduct patient insurance education while adhering to the established compliance regulations of the company.

• Identify and effectively convey opportunities to enhance the patient's insurance status.

• Provide patients with information to assist them in finding and/or securing insurance coverage and other financial assistance programs when necessary.

• Complete insurance assessments/evaluations for patients to accurately document education sessions.

• Serve as a liaison among patients, facility teammates, billing office, and corporate office to address patient insurance issues and concerns.

• Build and maintain relationships with field partners to ensure seamless support for patients.

• Participate in team meetings, phone conferences, and training sessions as needed; may assist in the onboarding and training of new teammates.

⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• At least one (1) year of experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) is strongly preferred.

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare organization collaborating with clinical staff and patients is preferred.

• Basic computer skills, high-speed internet (minimum of 40 GB), and a private workspace are necessary.

• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are preferred.
