
Insurance Billing/Collection Assistant III – Surgery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute advanced billing and collection processes.
• Serve as Lead IBC Assistant.
• Mentor and offer guidance to fellow IBC Assistants.
• Conduct follow-up on collections for commercial insurance, self-pay, Medicare, and Medicaid claims.
• Oversee discounts, adjustments, and corrections to charges.
• Make collection calls to both insurance companies and patients to ensure prompt claim payments.
• Analyze remittance advices for accuracy in rejection and payment.
• Confirm the accuracy and completeness of charge tickets.
• Track claim attachments to secure maximum reimbursements.
• Liaise with insurance companies regarding payment posting.
• Communicate with collection agencies about payment reports.
• Address inquiries and requests from insurance companies.
• Assist the customer service unit with billing and collection inquiries.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable personnel during busy periods, vacations, and illness.
• High school diploma or an equivalent certification, or a combination of education and/or experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in billing or insurance roles.
• Experience can be combined with education to fulfill the qualifications.
• No specific certifications or professional licenses are required.
• A driver's license is not a prerequisite.
• Preferred: 2 years of post-secondary education.
• Desired skills: strategies for collections, communication abilities, computer proficiency, handling confidential data, knowledge of medical terminology, familiarity with office equipment, and telephone systems.
