Instructional Systems Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate current course materials and subject matter expert (SME) resources to ensure they align with adult learning principles, style specifications, learning objectives, engagement strategies, and activities.

• Analyze training requirements and learning outcomes to assess the effectiveness of instructional programs and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Modify or recreate existing course design documents as needed.

• Create measurable SMART objectives that correspond with Bloom's Taxonomy and student learning outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with SMEs, program leaders, project stakeholders, and fellow developers.

• Monitor and report on progress, implementing mitigation strategies when risks threaten project timelines.

• Keep abreast of advancements in instructional design, educational technology, and industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, or over 3 years with an MS/MA, or at least 1 year with a PhD.

• Proficient in adult learning theories and instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE and SAM.

• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, e-learning development tools, and virtual classroom environments.

• Comprehension of techniques for evaluating learning effectiveness and developing instructional design solutions.

• Exceptional attention to detail and quality assurance.

• Strong project management abilities, including planning and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
