This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct small group specialized academic instruction live under the supervision of an administrator and in collaboration with a credentialed education specialist.
• Develop learning materials.
• Assist in monitoring and gathering student performance data and input for IEPs.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning materials and skills.
• Provide support to students both inside and outside the classroom to enable their participation in educational activities.
• Act as a resource for IEP, Title 1, ESL, and other teams upon request.
• Attend training sessions specific to students, medical procedure training, and IEP meetings as necessary.
• Encourage students through effective communication and evaluative feedback.
• Maintain required records.
• Follow instructions from the special education administrative team.
• Travel within and across assigned geographic areas to assist students, attend meetings, proctor state exams, and engage in school activities and orientations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• One of the following: two years of study at a higher education institution (60+ semester units), an associate's or higher degree, or a passing score on the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST).
• Must be a resident of California.
• Possess an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of diverse ages, temperaments, abilities, and specialized needs.
• Ability to manage confidential information and materials effectively.
• Capability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators.
• Ability to support and guide both adults and students.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time-management skills.
• Flexible scheduling availability.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with experience in professional settings.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with student information systems and/or database software.
• Experienced in moderating web meetings using platforms such as Blackboard Collaborate, Webinar, or Webex for both small and large groups.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm without another job during contracted hours.
• Willingness to travel throughout the school year within and between assigned geographic areas.
