Instructional Aide, Social Sciences

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Oversees the daily fiscal, administrative, and operational functions of a specific program or a collection of funded initiatives.

• Aids in the grading and management of courses within our Universal Learner Courses (ULC), which are conducted remotely.

• Assists faculty with the assessment of learners in online courses by offering feedback and grading support for in-class activities and assignments.

• Evaluates and grades assignments, and may be called upon to help learners overcome challenges within the Universal Learner Course.

• Engages in several initial virtual training sessions, along with additional calibration sessions as required.

• Responds to learner inquiries and challenges within the course platform through discussion boards.

• Monitors and participates in discussion activities on course discussion boards.

• Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Learning Enterprise team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of relevant experience in the designated area or field;

• Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training that provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Transformation, Sustainability, or a related discipline.

• A strong commitment to advancing educational equity for scholars from underserved communities.

• Exceptional engagement, team-building, and communication abilities.

• Previous teaching experience is advantageous, especially for those who have worked with high school students.

• Experience as a tutor and/or in promoting student success.

• Familiarity with Canvas or a similar Learning Management System.

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to thrive in dynamic or challenging environments.

• Knowledge of content and/or coursework in a relevant field.

• Dedication to consistently supporting students.

• Proficient in English, having completed ENG 101, ENG 102, ENG 105, or equivalent coursework.
