This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Evaluate inpatient medical records to ensure accurate DRG assignment and compliance with coding standards.
β’ Examine patient charts to detect inconsistencies in coding or clinical documentation.
β’ Guarantee coding precision in line with CMS regulations and established industry coding guidelines.
β’ Perform second-level assessments of DRGs, discharge statuses, and Present on Admission (POA) indicators before billing.
β’ Work collaboratively with coding teams and clinical personnel to address documentation and coding inquiries.
β’ Engage in coding audits and initiatives aimed at quality enhancement.
β’ Investigate and respond to coding or documentation denials concerning DRG assignments.
β’ Offer guidance and training to coding personnel regarding best practices in documentation and coding.
β’ Assist in ensuring regulatory adherence and support internal audit processes.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in inpatient coding.
β’ Proficiency in DRG validation, auditing, or coding quality review.
β’ Strong knowledge of clinical documentation and standards for coding compliance.
β’ Capability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
β’ Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
β’ An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline is preferred.
β’ Candidates must possess at least one of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCS-P.
