This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate inpatient encounters and accurately assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRGs that can withstand audits.
• Analyze documentation thoroughly; if it does not substantiate the coded services, highlight it and escalate the discrepancy.
• Code in strict accordance with CMS standards, payer-specific regulations, and established coding guidelines.
• Navigate confidently through client workflows, systems, and audit requirements.
• Maintain a high standard of quality (95% accuracy or greater) while achieving achievable productivity targets.
• Current RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS certification.
• Over 3 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care environment, preferably in a medium to large facility.
• Certain client projects may necessitate 5 or more years of experience.
• Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner), coding encoders, and CAC platforms (Solventum, Optum).
• Ability to work independently with the discernment to inquire when something appears incorrect.
