Inpatient Auditor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform scheduled quality assurance assessments for both internal teams and external client organizations.

• Execute onboarding audits and training sessions for newly recruited inpatient coders.

• Facilitate training sessions and provide educational feedback to coders, including those at client locations.

• Relay quality concerns and audit results to management and client representatives.

• Aid in the development, execution, and monitoring of quality improvement action plans for coders.

• Maintain reports and ensure accuracy rates for coders and clients.

• Address client QA needs and inquiries as instructed by management.

• Offer educational sessions on error trends to coders and client teams.

• Inform management of compliance issues or incidents.

• Exhibit knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations through appropriate management of patient information.

• Uphold confidentiality and discretion when handling patient information.

• Participate in educational conference calls and client meetings as necessary.

• Carry out additional duties assigned for the project.

• Maintain established productivity and quality standards.

• Adhere to coding credential requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicant must hold an approved AHIMA or inpatient coding credential.

• A minimum of 5 years of coding experience is recommended; 3 years of inpatient coding in an acute care environment is required.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility is recommended.

• At least 2 years of auditing experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in ICD-10-PCS coding is required.
