This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulate and implement a comprehensive innovation strategy that aligns with trends in grid modernization and industry electrification.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to determine their potential effects on utility and industrial customer operations.
• Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps.
• Spearhead New Technology Introduction initiatives that enhance our software-defined automation solutions' differentiation.
• Lead mission-driven teams that deliver customer-centric innovative solutions aimed at the digital transformation of substations and grid networks, with the objective of accelerating the energy transition process.
• Oversee customer proof-of-concept projects from initial conception through to successful implementation.
• Collaborate with R&D, product management, and commercial teams to discover opportunities for innovation partnerships with clients.
• Establish and nurture strategic relationships with utility customers, research institutions, and technology partners.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, standards committees, and technical forums.
• Work together with utilities on future grid architecture and operational requirements.
• Build and lead a high-performing innovation team.
• Encourage a culture of creativity, experimentation, and rapid prototyping.
• Mentor technical staff and support their professional growth.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in power systems, grid automation, or related technology sectors.
• A minimum of 5 years in senior leadership positions overseeing innovation or R&D organizations.
• Proven success in bringing innovative products from concept to market.
• In-depth knowledge of the electric grid ecosystem, including assets, protection, automation, monitoring and diagnostics, communications, customers, and markets.
• Experience with software-defined systems, virtualization, and cloud computing architectures.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in industrial automation and grid operations.
• Knowledge of grid communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, GOOSE) and cybersecurity.
• Demonstrated capability to convert technical vision into business strategy.
• Strong project management skills with a background in leading complex, multidisciplinary initiatives.
• Excellent communication abilities, capable of presenting to both technical and executive audiences.
• Experience in managing customer relationships and collaborative development projects.
• Familiarity with utility industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Background in digital transformation initiatives within traditional industries.
• Prior involvement in proof-of-concept development and technology validation.
• Publications or patents in pertinent technical fields.
• Professional certifications in project management or innovation methodologies.
