This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.
• Identify and source food ingredients, raw materials, and specialty components for product development and commercial production.
• Conduct research to locate ingredient manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers across the globe.
• Gather information on pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, ingredient specifications, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and technical documentation.
• Source various food ingredients including dairy products, sweeteners, starches, gums, flavorings, fruit preparations, and other functional components.
• Coordinate requests for ingredient samples necessary for R&D and product testing.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, certifications, pricing, and availability.
• Provide assistance with ingredient substitutions and alternative sourcing methods.
• Maintain comprehensive records of suppliers and sourcing activities.
• Support the procurement process for packaging materials and related product components.
• Establish and nurture relationships with ingredient manufacturers, distributors, and brokers.
• Keep track of ingredient availability, market trends, and pricing fluctuations.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, ideally within the food sector.
• Proven experience in sourcing food ingredients, raw materials, or specialty food components.
• Strong skills in online research and supplier sourcing.
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with vendors.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Ability to manage various sourcing projects concurrently.
• Keen attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills (CEFR C1 or equivalent).
• Preferred: experience in the sourcing or procurement of food ingredients.
• Preferred: background in food manufacturing, food science, dairy, bakery, confectionery, or beverage industries.
• Preferred: experience with suppliers such as Ingredion, Tate & Lyle, Cargill, ADM, IFF, Kerry, or similar ingredient manufacturers.
• Preferred: understanding of food ingredient specifications, technical data sheets, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
• Preferred: familiarity with FDA-regulated food products and food safety documentation.
