This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance support for the ICE Health Service Corps Health Information Technology Unit.
• Oversee the establishment of Authority to Operate (ATO) for four or more systems.
• Assist in cybersecurity risk management initiatives, including system security planning and the coordination of control implementation.
• Facilitate ATO processes for several systems, encompassing documentation, coordination, and tracking.
• Aid in continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and remediation tracking.
• Offer security guidance and validation throughout system design and enhancement activities.
• Collaborate with system owners, project managers, and technical teams to meet security requirements.
• Support incident response coordination and security reporting.
• Ensure adherence to NIST, FISMA, and DHS security policies.
• Keep security documentation, risk registers, and audit artifacts up to date.
• Counsel leadership on cybersecurity risks and strategies for mitigation.
• Conduct cybersecurity activities in an advisory, compliance-monitoring, and validation role; refrain from system configuration, implementation, or operational control functions.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supporting federal cybersecurity or IT security programs.
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance obligations.
• Experience in aiding government IT security programs.
• In-depth understanding of risk management and system authorization (ATO) processes.
• Capability to convey security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent documentation and coordination abilities.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE fitness determination (public trust).
• Must sign a DHS Non-Disclosure Agreement.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Preferred relevant industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
• Experience with DHS, ICE, or other federal IT security programs is desired.
• Experience in leading or assisting ATO efforts for multiple systems simultaneously is preferred.
• Familiarity with NIST RMF, FISMA, DHS/ICE cybersecurity policies, and the ICE Cybersecurity Contract Language Catalog is advantageous.
• Experience with POA&M management, SSP development, and continuous monitoring tools is preferred.
