Information Systems Security Engineering – ISSE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Implement and document STIG configurations across designated systems and platforms

• Perform Security Impact Analyses (SIAs) for proposed modifications

• Execute automated configuration validation utilizing SCAP Compliance Checker

• Oversee vulnerability tracking and remediation processes within Tenable SC

• Assess the security posture of cloud infrastructure using Tenable Cloud Security

• Assist with the setup of CyberArk PAM and manage privileged access

• Develop and uphold secure configuration baselines

• Author comprehensive technical security control implementation guides

• Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Architect on technical security implementations

• Navigate both on-premise and cloud DoD environments

• Work in partnership with GRC, operations, and architecture teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Active Secret or TS clearance

• 3–5 years of experience in security engineering or system-hardening

• Practical experience with STIGviewer and SCAP Compliance Checker

• Working knowledge of Tenable SC or similar vulnerability management systems

• Strong understanding of secure configuration management principles

• DoD 8140.03M DCWF Basic Tier: CEH

• DoD 8140 Interim Education Options

• Desired: Experience in administering CyberArk PAM

• Desired: Knowledge of Tenable Cloud Security or similar cloud assessment tools

• Desired: Exposure to DoD cloud environments (IL2–IL6)

• Desired: DoD 8140.03M DCWF Intermediate Tier—one of the following: CEH(P), RCCE Level 1, Cloud+, CPTE, FITSP-A, GCED, GCIH, GCSA, GICSP, GSEC, PenTest+, or Security+

• Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Software Engineering

• Willingness to travel up to 10%
