Information Systems Cost Estimator – Journeyman

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Evaluates management challenges and offers guidance and insights regarding the potential impacts of various solutions to these challenges.

• Employs standard cost estimation techniques, including analogy, engineering or scientific methodologies, and extrapolation.

• Utilizes cost estimation results to evaluate how different factors influence the costs associated with designing, researching, developing, operating, maintaining, and disposing of a specific weapon system; identifies the most suitable phase of the budgetary cycle (planning, programming, justification, or execution) for launching new programs.

• Assesses all elements that impact costs for projects with a limited scope.

• Reviews contractor financial data using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics to ascertain program feasibility concerning cost and schedule performance.

• Utilizes the ACEIT Tool Suite to conduct all program office estimates, which is a mandatory requirement for positions in the BES Directorate (AFLCMC/GB) related to information systems cost estimation (Junior, Journeyman, Senior, Principal, Hybrid).

• Engages in analytical processes, including problem setup, conducting background research, data collection and reduction, data visualization for analysis, formulation of mathematical expressions, and deriving conclusions.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field with a minimum of three years of experience in the applicable technical/professional discipline, with three of those years in the DoW, OR seven years of directly related experience along with appropriate certifications, five of which must be in the DoW.

• Must possess the knowledge, experience, and demonstrated capability to execute tasks related to the technical/professional discipline being performed.

• Typically operates independently and applies the appropriate procedures and processes pertinent to their area of expertise.

• Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems and troubleshoot various situations to achieve successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines.

• Work may be conducted independently or under the supervision of more senior contractor personnel (Program Office and Staff Level Support interface).

• Must have practical experience using the Automated Cost Estimating and Integrated Tool (ACEIT) Suite.

• Must have experience in constructing and communicating Program Office Estimates (POEs).

• Must hold and maintain a T1/NACI security clearance.
