Information Security Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Engage in the formulation and execution of information security strategies;

• Carry out security assessments and offer recommendations;

• Oversee and assist in IT security audits;

• Contribute to penetration testing activities;

• Create, document, and sustain security policies and procedures;

• Conduct risk assessments and suggest mitigation strategies;

• Track emerging threats and vulnerabilities;

• Counsel technology teams on security best practices;

• Participate in security incident investigations and analyses;

• Generate documentation, reports, and recommendations for stakeholders;

• Organize workshops, meetings, and security awareness initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline;

• At least five (5) years of experience in IT;

• CISSP certification (or an equivalent as specified by the client);

• Active membership in a professional information security organization;

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an information security consultant;

• Experience in leading IT security audits;

• Experience in participating in penetration testing exercises;

• Experience in drafting and implementing security policies;

• Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure, network, and systems security principles;

• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Cisco, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments;

• Practical experience with security tools such as Nessus, Nmap, OpenVAS, Metasploit, and Wireshark;

• Knowledge of firewall technologies, encryption, and PKI infrastructures;

• Exceptional ability to gather and analyze requirements;

• Strong communication, facilitation, and technical writing capabilities;

• Proven independence, attention to detail, and excellent collaboration skills.
