Information Governance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for statutory obligations.

• Spearhead the development and ongoing enhancement of our data protection and information governance framework.

• Provide expert guidance and assurance to senior leadership regarding data protection compliance.

• Supervise data subject rights processes to ensure timely and compliant management of requests.

• Direct the management of personal data breaches, including investigation, risk assessment, and regulatory reporting as necessary.

• Oversee and maintain the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) and data protection documentation.

• Integrate Data Protection by Design and Default into projects, systems, and business processes.

• Create and deliver training and awareness programs to foster a robust data protection culture.

• Assist with audits, reviews, and regulatory inspections, ensuring that actions are managed effectively.

• Cultivate strong relationships with internal teams, regulators, and external partners.

• Lead the management and response to data protection complaints.

• Provide line management and leadership to the Information Governance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and data protection principles.

• A professional qualification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E) or equivalent experience.

• Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within information governance or data protection.

• Experience in managing data subject rights requests and personal data breaches.

• Ability to interpret legislation and apply it in a practical organizational setting.

• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, particularly when engaging with senior stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in social housing or a regulated environment is preferred.
