Industry Segment Consultant – Retail & Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Works in partnership with the people leader to implement the company’s underwriting framework within the designated industry segment.

• Develops and disseminates best practices and underwriting guidance throughout the organization.

• Acts as a technical authority in Corporate Underwriting, addressing inquiries related to the assigned business segment.

• Evaluates premium and loss data, along with other essential reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, to ensure sustainable profitable growth.

• Communicates insights and suggests improvements required to achieve company objectives and enhance underwriting performance.

• Proposes and formulates new product concepts, assesses existing products, and aids in crafting new coverage language.

• Engages in continuous collaboration with risk improvement, claims, actuary, and other relevant teams to support enterprise-wide business and profitability objectives.

• Offers direction, training, and mentorship to less experienced team members as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in a business or insurance-related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Eight years of experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting.

• Preferred experience in staff underwriting within the designated line of business or business segment.

• Preferred insurance designations, such as AU, CIC, or CPCU.
