This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• The Payroll Manager will oversee the payroll operations and provide tax consultation services to clients.
• This role involves collaborating with clients to formulate tax strategies and policies tailored to their operations and transactions.
• The individual will lead both internal and external training sessions aimed at promoting the professional growth of tax staff and senior accountants.
• Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing 1040 tax returns and other related tax forms.
• The role entails preparing and reviewing tax equalization calculations.
• The Payroll Manager will assist in addressing notices and act as a representative for clients with tax authorities.
• Conducting gross-up computations for expatriates is also part of the job.
• Maintaining payroll operations by gathering and inputting data, as well as reviewing payroll reports, is essential.
• The individual will work with clients to create tax-efficient solutions that meet their business requirements.
• Staying updated on the latest tax regulations and expanding tax knowledge is expected.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a tax concentration from an accredited college or university is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in individual income tax or payroll is necessary.
• A CPA or EA license is mandatory.
• Strong skills in tax accounting and analytical abilities are essential.
• Proficiency in tax accounting software, Excel, and Word is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
• The ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities is important.
• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in reporting and communication is needed.
• 2-3 years of experience with payroll processing using ADP products is preferred.
• Full proficiency in the CCH tax program is necessary.
• Business-level proficiency in English is required, with dual business-level proficiency in Japanese preferred.
